Frequently Asked Questions

We are happy to assist you with our FAQ section prepared to help you better understand our product and service processes.

Can I really access a real fiber optic experiment environment remotely?

Yes. With RealFOLab, you can remotely access a real fiber optic laboratory from anywhere in the world. Schedule your experiment via our appointment system and connect whenever you want.

I made a simulation. Will it work in the real experiment environment?

Simulations give you an idea, but working on real fiber optic systems always yields more accurate results. RealFOLab lets you go beyond simulations and test your theoretical models in the field.

Do I need approval to use this laboratory environment?

No. You don't need a scholarship or official approval from an institution. Whether you're a student, academic, or independent researcher, the platform is open to you.

Which devices will I have access to during the experiment?

You will have access to advanced optical sources, power meters, OTDR, TLS, OSA, ASE sources, butterfly lasers, and passive components (couplers, attenuators, filters, etc.). All controls are designed for user operation.

How is safety ensured during experiments?

All users are trained on the system before the experiment. The system is also supported by automatic safety protocols. Safe remote use without physical intervention is possible.

Can I record the experiment results?

Yes. All data is automatically recorded by the system. You can access, download, and analyze the experiment data anytime.

What kind of information does the training content include?

Basic fiber optic training covers fiber types, light transmission, cable installation, measurement methods, and safety. Practical experience is also gained through applied content.

Can I work with multiple people at the same time?

Yes. Our platform allows multiple researchers to collaborate in the same experiment environment, ideal for interdisciplinary studies and international collaborations.
